Terms of Service
Last updated: November 7, 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These Terms of Service govern your use of VoltIQ Academy (the "Service"), operated by Karan Modi, an individual doing business as VoltIQ Academy ("we", "us"). By creating an account, starting a free trial or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. A parent or guardian who buys a subscription for a child is responsible for that child's use.
- Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in details private. An account is for one person; do not share it.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Subscriptions and the free trial
How the free trial and renewals work
Plans start with a 7-day free trial. You enter a payment method to start it, and you are not charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your payment method is charged the price shown at checkout, and the subscription then renews automatically every month or every year (whichever you chose) until you cancel.
- The price, billing interval, trial end date and what is included are shown at checkout before you confirm.
- Everything we sell is a subscription. Each plan gives access to the content tracks it lists (for example PE Power, FE Electrical, Math or All-Access).
- Prices are in US dollars. We may change the price for future renewals. We will give you notice before a new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
- Content in each track is added over time. A track may be marked as opening soon until it is ready.
4. Payments, taxes and Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles payments, tax collection and refunds. By paying, you also agree to Paddle's buyer terms, which are linked in the checkout.
Applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated and collected by Paddle where required, and is shown at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
5. Cancelling
- You can cancel at any time. Use the cancel or manage-subscription link in your Paddle receipt email, or email us at the address below from the email on your account and we will cancel it promptly, normally within one business day.
- If you cancel during the free trial, you are not charged.
- If you cancel after you have been charged, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again.
- Cancelling is separate from asking for a refund. See our Refund Policy.
6. Your license and acceptable use
While your trial or subscription is active, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service and its content for your own study.
You agree not to:
- share your account or your access with anyone else;
- copy, redistribute, resell or publish our questions, solutions, videos or other content;
- scrape or bulk-download the Service, or use our content to build a competing question bank or to train an AI model;
- get around access controls or the paywall;
- upload unlawful content or interfere with the security or operation of the Service.
We may suspend or end access if these rules are broken.
7. Our content, accuracy and exam disclaimers
- We write and check our questions and solutions carefully. Our PE and FE material is reviewed by Karan Modi, a licensed Professional Engineer, before it is released. Even so, mistakes can happen. If you find one, tell us and we will review and correct it.
- We do not guarantee any exam result, pass rate or score improvement. Results depend on your effort, background and the exam itself.
- Our content is for exam preparation and learning. It is not professional engineering advice and must not be used for design or safety decisions.
8. Other organizations' names and trademarks
VoltIQ Academy is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by NCEES, the College Board, NFPA or any exam provider. NCEES and its exams belong to NCEES. "National Electrical Code" and "NEC" are registered trademarks of NFPA. "SAT" and "AP" are registered trademarks of the College Board. We use these names only to describe what our content covers. We do not reproduce NCEES exam questions, the NCEES Reference Handbook or the text of the NEC.
9. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features and content. If we remove something material that you are paying for, we will tell you and you can cancel.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if a payment fails and is not resolved, or if the law requires it. When access ends, your license ends. Sections that by their nature should continue to apply will continue to apply.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or exam fees. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Some places do not allow certain limits. Where that is the case, these limits apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will give you reasonable notice by email or in the Service before it applies to you. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept it. If you do not agree, you can cancel before it takes effect.
